master thesis

in february 2010 i graduated in blended studies of economics, tourism management & (new media) marketing from fh salzburg university of applied sciences with an austrian master degree (magister).

i wrote my master thesis about the use of online social networks in travel destination marketing. this was done in cooperation with zauchensee (a small destination close to salzburg with a strong winter season) as a sample destination.

the thesis was full success and zauchensee is beginning to use the results within their destination marketing. chances are pretty good that my thesis' key findings will be published in an academic book about eTourism in early 2011.

my thesis' empirical part was based on an online survey conducted in autumn 2009. the survey was realised on onlineforschung.org.

thanks to a generous lucky draw among all survey participants (offered by zauchensee's tourism board) a pretty solid base of 611 valid surveys could be reached for my statistical analyses.
